The East Central Community College basketball teams got back in the win column with a sweep of the teams from Meridian Community College Thursday, Feb. 13, in Brackeen-Wood Gym on the campus in Decatur.
Due to the weather, there are some changes in this week’s home ECCC sports schedules.

The East Central Community College Warriors scored a pair of 10-2 wins to open the 2020 baseball season with a sweep over the Mississippi Delta Trojans Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Clark-Gay Baseball Complex on the campus in Decatur.
For the second consecutive day, the nationally ranked East Central Community College tennis teams found themselves on the courts with two other nationally ranked teams. This time it was Marion Military Institute, and the hosts of Marion, Ala., grabbed a pair of victories Saturday, Feb. 9.
ECCC’s Blakely Signs to Play Football for MVSU
East Central Community College sophomore linebacker Anthony Blakely signed a national letter of intent Feb. 5 to play football next year for Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena.
For the first time in program history, both the East Central Community College men’s and women’s tennis teams will open the spring season with a national ranking.
The East Central Community College Lady Warriors dropped a hard-fought 72-68 decision to the No. 11 ranked Jones College Lady Bobcats, while a second half comeback gave the Jones men an 80-76 win over the Warriors in MACJC South Division basketball action Thursday, Jan. 16, at Brackeen-Wood Gym in Decatur.
East Central Community College sophomore Anna McNeer has signed to continue her softball career next fall at Belhaven University in Jackson.
McNeer, a catcher who prepped at Canton Academy, hit .415 and led the team with 21 doubles and 58 RBI as a freshman last season. She also hit eight home runs.
East Central Community College sophomore guard Jariyah Covington has been selected as the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges' Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her play Jan. 13-19.
The East Central Community College baseball MVP Showcase is based upon targeting talented athletes from the Classes of 2020-23 who have either been recommended or spotted as viable prospects or both.
