Last week in a blowout win against Madison St. Joseph, Newton coach Ryan Smith complained to his team about their lack of execution on two-point plays.

This week against Eupora, it was the difference in the game as the Tigers converted all three of their attempts and took a hard-fought 24-19 win over the home-standing Eagles.














New director settles in

People attending events with the Newton Chamber of Commerce have noticed a new face.

That person is Emily Jacome-Cluff, who was tapped by the chamber’s board of directors to lead the organization. And while she was born in Alaska, her family made Newton County home many years ago.
