Another suspect pleads guilty as accessory in exchange for testimony
A change of venue for the retrial of a man accused of conspiring to commit the 2017 St. Patrick’s Day murder of Newton’s Jamarcus Townsend resulted in a guilty verdict on Friday in Eighth District Circuit Court held in Philadelphia.
Newton High School’s Tiger Roars student newspaper was one of the most enjoyed parts of the high school experience during its 17-year run from 1982 to 1999.
Now students and community members who enjoyed the publication as a student can now go online and read the entire archive.
The Newton Board of Aldermen appointed Jhaddaka Leverette to the Newton Municipal School District board, taking the place of Ward 4 Alderwoman Romonica Evans on the board.
Leverette was one of nine candidates who turned in their names by the July 13 deadline. Six were present and three were absent.

Visitation was held 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Clarke-Venable Baptist Church.
