Conehatta School Reunion

Graduates of Conehatta School are invited to attend the Conehatta School Reunion beginning 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6. Bring a dish.

Retirement Reception for William (Bill) Richardson Jr.

Everyone is invited to attend a retirement reception for William (Bill) Richardson Jr., honoring his 50 years of dedicated service at East Central Planning and Development District, 1:30-3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20. The reception will be held at Clarke Venable Baptist Church, 362 W. Broad St., Decatur.

Decatur High School Class of 1978 and 1979 Reunion

A class reunion for the Decatur High School class of 1978 and 1979 will be held Saturday, June 29. If you are a member of the class of 1978 or 1979 and plan to attend, please contact Sarah Boggan or Cheryl Comans at class19781979@outlook.com.

Union Public Library Children’s Story Time

The Union Public Library will host a Children’s Story Time each Friday at 10 a.m. All children are invited to attend.

Newton Theatre Company Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the membership of the Newton Theatre Company will be held June 24 at the Roxy Theatre in downtown Newton at 6 p.m.  Directors will be elected and amendments to the bylaws will be presented for approval.  The annual meeting is open to all current members.

Turkey Creek Fireworks Show

The annual Fourth of July Fireworks show at Turkey Creek will be held July 3, and feature a bounce house, face painting and concessions. Decatur Volunteer Fire Department will begin selling hamburgers and hotdogs at 5 p.m., with fireworks beginning at 9 p.m. The park will be open all day for visitors to arrive. The cost is $10 per vehicle.
