A Lake man is in custody for the burglary at Lake Middle School on June 21. Devangelos Anderson, 20, was arrested by Scott County Sheriff’s deputies on Thursday, June 22 on a charge of burglary.
According to the Scott County Times, Scott County Sheriff Mike Lee expected Anderson would be the first of several arrests in the break in where suspects made off with several electronic devices, including several Chrome laptop computers and cameras, and caused hundreds of dollars in damage.
Two of the suspects were caught on a security camera during the break in.
The suspects broke through an outside cinderblock wall into a women’s restroom and then broke through another wall to get to the school’s safe where records are kept. LMS Principal Nancy Butler said the suspects went through the envelopes in the cabinet, most likely looking for money.
If anyone has information that can lead to the capture of the suspects, call the Scott County Sheriff’s Office at 601-469-1511.
