Newton County High School Student Wins Statewide Math Award

Algebra Nation, a state-funded math program that is free for students, schools, and teachers in Mississippi, awarded Newton County 9th-grade student Ellie Winter an iPad for her exemplary work in helping her peers across the state succeed in Algebra I. Algebra Nation presented the award on Friday, November 16th at the school. 



‘FAFSA Day’ helps students, parents understand finanical aid

Union High School’s guidance counselor Deanna Rush, hosted FAFSA Day for senior students and their parents on Thursday.  Mae Thornton and Bridgette Hitt, representatives from the financial aid office at East Central Community College, and Danny Thomas, a representative from get2college.org in Jackson, came to Union High School to assist parents
