The annual Newton County United Givers Fund (UGF) Drive for 2025 is officially underway, and local leaders are calling on citizens and business owners to take part in supporting the welfare of their community.
With a shared responsibility to enhance the lives of families and organizations throughout Newton County, the UGF Drive encourages everyone who resides or works in the county to contribute. Donations help support vital schools, agencies, and charitable organizations that serve the local area.
“This is your opportunity to contribute to our Newton County communities—the place we want to live,” organizers stated. “Your contributions are more important than ever.”
The drive is welcoming donations in any amount, noting that contributions of $20, $50, or even $100 can significantly impact the efforts of these agencies. Donations are also tax deductible, offering an added incentive for residents to give generously.
Contributions can be submitted in person at the Union, Decatur, or Newton Chamber of Commerce offices or mailed to:

The Newton County United Givers Board of Directors includes Bob Beckley, who serves as UGF Chairman, and Don Vares, the UGF Drive Chairman, along with members Bet Thames, Andy Rowzee, Jamie Baucum, Chris Rule, Rusty Russell, David Burt, Jordan Robinson, Ashley Massey, and Sonya Smith.
