Lake 0-8-15, Sacred Heart 5-1-5
After losing game 1 against Sacred Heart, the Lake Hornets rebounded to win two straight and advance in the Class 2A playoffs.
Lake lost 5-0 in game 1 but then bounced back and won 8-1 on Friday and 15-5 on Monday. Lake (15-10) will play at Loyd Star on Tuesday and host game 2 on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Lake 15, Sacred Heart 5
J.D. Gibson was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and four RBIs while Trey Gray was 2-for-3 with three runs scored. Kasen Tune was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs while Wes Nester was 2-for-4. Kenny Ray Hanna doubled and scored two runs while Aidan Dilley and Aiden Alford both doubled.
Alford started on the mound and pitched six full innings, giving up five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out eight.
Lake 8, Sacred Heart 1
Aiden Alford was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored while Trey Gray was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. J.D. Gibson was also 2-for-3.
Kasen Tune pitched all seven innings and gave up one run on four hits and six walks.
Sacred Heart 5, Lake 0
The Hornets only had one hit as the Crusaders took gave one of the series.
Aiden Alford started on the mound and pitched all seven innings, giving up five runs on six hits and two walks while striking out nine.
