The Union baseball team took a week off from division play and swept a two-game series from McLaurin.
Union took both games of a doubleheader on Thursday, winning 14-8 in the first game and 9-6 in the nightcap.
Union improvs to 10-7 on the season and will return to play this week with a two-game series against Philadelphia. Game 1 is set for Tuesday at Union while game 2 is scheduled for Friday at Philadelphia. Union will then host Noxapater on Saturday in a 1 p.m. contest.

Hitting: The Yellowjackets had 13 hits as they took a six-run win over the Tigers. Kooper Fultz was 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs while Hayden Dolan was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Mason Tucker was 2-for-4 with a home run and five RBIs. Turner Johnson was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Jacob Freeman singled, walked twice and scored two runs while Austin Lee and Samuel Alawine singled and scored two runs.
Pitching: Fultz started on the mound and pitched 5 2/3 innings to pick up the win. He gave up eight runs, with only three earned, on six hits and four walks whiles striking out four. Tanner Watkins pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up one hit and one hit while striking out two.

Hitting: Union was outhit 10-5 in the contest but took advantage of nine walks, three errors and three hit batters. Jacob Freeman was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs while Turner Johnson also singled. Hayden Dolan also singled and walked twice. Rafe Manning walked three times, had four stolen bases and scored three runs.
Pitching: Freeman started on the mound and pitched four innings, giving up five runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out five. Samuel Alawine pitched three innings and gave up one run on two hits and a walk while striking out seven.
