The Lake basketball teams finished out the regular season last with by splitting games with Clarkdale and Newton.
The Lady girls beat Clarkdale 60-9 while the Hornets beat the Bulldogs 70-28 on Monday.
Lake then took on rival Newton on Tuesday as the Lady Tigers won 47-35 and the Tigers won 76-55.
Both Lake teams finished as the No. 3 seed. The Lake girls will take on Bay Springs on Thursday at 7 p.m. while the Lake boys will take on Newton in a 5:30 p.m. contest.
Lake girls 60, Clarkdale 9
The Lady Hornets dominated the first period and used a strong defensive effort to take a 51-point win over the Lady Bulldogs.
Lake led 15-4 at the end of the first period and then outscored Clarkdale 26-2 in the second period to take a 41-6 lead into the half. Lake continued to extend its lead in the second half, outscoring Clarkdale 6-0 in the third and 13-3 in the fourth.
Annalisa Towner led Lake with 17 points while Taylor Clark had 11 points. Kyuinnia Pinkston had seven points while Beautiful Carr and Harmonie Jones each had six points apiece.
Lake boys 70, Clarkdale 28
The Hornets outscored the Bulldogs in every period and cruised to a 42-point win on Tuesday.
Lake jumped out to a 25-7 lead in the first period and then outscored Clarkdale 13-8 in the second to lead 38-15 at the half. The Hornets continued to extend the lead in the second half, outscoring the Bulldogs 20-6 in the third and 11-7 in the fourth.
Te’Kenyon Fountain led Lake with 18 points while Ny’Zavion McClendon had 16 points. Demetrick Gardner had 12 points
Newton girls 47, Lake 35
The Lady Tigers grabbed an early lead and never looked back as they took a 12-point win over the Lady Hornets on Monday.
Newton jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first period while Lake outscored the Lady Tigers 14-10 in the second period to cut the lead to 24-14 at the half. The second half was tight as Newton outscored Lake 14-13 in the third and 9-8 in the fourth.
Jamiya Jones led Newton with 15 points while Erin Ware had 14 points. Anniston Adkins also had nine points while Sommer Jordan also had eight points
Harmonie Jones had 13 points to lead Lake while Jaylyn Grant had nine points and Beautiful Carr added six points.
Newton boys 76, Lake 55
The Tigers took a big first-half lead and cruised to a 21-point win over the Hornets on Monday.
Newton led 15-5 at the end of the first period and then outscored Lake 30-16 in the second period to lead 45-21 at the half. Lake took the third period 16-13 to cut the lead to 58-37 going to the fourth. Newton finished by outscoring Lake 18-16 in the fourth to take the win.
Te’Kenyon Fountain led lake with 16 points while Demetrick Gardner and Ny’Zavion McClendon each had eight points. Jhaqwon Slack also had seven points
