Lake only got in one game last week but came away with a sweep of rival Scott Central.
The Lady Hornets took a 33-17 win while the Hornets won 55-45 in overtime.
Lake will return to play this week as they play at Bay Springs on Tuesday in a division 5-2A contest.
Lake boys 55, Scott Central 45
The Hornets pulled away in overtime to take a 10-point win over the Rebels in division play.
Lake led 12-7 at the end of the first period and each team scored 10 points in the second period as the Hornets led 22-17 at the half. Scott Central battled back in the second half and outscored Lake 15-12 in the third and 13-11 in the fourth to send the game into overtime. Lake then pulled away in the overtime period by outscoring Scott Central 10-0 to take the win.
Te’Kenyon Fountain led Lake with 20 points while Ny’Zavion McClendon had 13 points. Demetrick Gardner also chipped in eight points.
Lake girls 33, Scott Central 17
The Lady Hornets used a stingy defense to take a 16-point win over the Lady Rebels.
Lake outscored Scott Central 8-3 in the first and each team scored eight points in the second as the Lady Hornets led 16-11 at the half. Lake extended its lead in the second half, outscoring Scott Central 9-3 in the third and 8-3 in the fourth.
Natasha Patrick led Lake with nine points while Jaylyn Grant had seven points. Beautiful Carr also chipped in six points.
