The Newton County Academy girls added two more wins to their total last week with a pair of blowout wins to improve to 14-1 on the season.
The Lady Generals hammered rival Sylva Bay 56-27 and then whipped Russell Christian 63-36.
The Generals lost both contests, falling 46-16 to Sylva Bay and 65-26 to Russell.
NCA will return to play on Friday, Jan. 3 as they play at Christ Covenant. Then on Saturday, Jan. 4, NCA will play at the Meridian Flyers
NCA girls 56, Sylva Bay 27
The Lady Generals started strong in each half as they took a 29-point win over the Lady Saints.
NCA jumped out to a 16-8 lead in the first period while each team scored nine points in the second period as the Lady Generals led 25-17 at the half. The Lady Generals then outscored the Lady Saints 22-5 and take a 47-22 lead into the fourth period. NCA took the fourth period 9-5 for the final margin.
Piper Collins led NCA with 15 points while Lillian Nutt had 10 points. Addison Mathis also chipped in seven points.
Sylva Bay boys 46, NCA 16
The Saints used a stingy defense to take a 30-point win over the Generals on Friday.
Sylva Bay led 7-3 at the end of the first period and then outscored NCA 18-4 in the second to lead 25-7 at the half. Sylva Bay then outscored NCA 13-5 in the third and 8-4 in the fourth to take the win.
No scorers were provided for NCA.
NCA girls 63, Russell Christian 36
The Lady Generals outscored the Lady Warriors in every period as they cruised to a 27-point win.
NCA held a 13-7 lead at the end of the first and then outscored Russell 16-4 in the second to lead 29-11 at the half. NCA continued to extend the lead in the second half, outscoring Russell 19-13 in the third and 15-12 in the fourth.
Adriane Luke led NCA with 21 points while Sydnee Cosgrove had nine points. Lillian Nutt and Addison Mathis each chipped in seven points apiece.
Russell Christian boys 65, NCA 26
The Warriors outscored the Generals in every period and cruised to a 39-point win.
Russell jumped out to a 22-8 lead in the first period and then outscored NCA 10-7 in the second to lead 32-15 at the half. Russell continued to extend the lead in the second half, outscoring NCA 19-9 in the third and 14-2 in the second.
Cooper Savell led NCA with 10 points.
