Danny Shoemaker was honored with a retirement reception at Turkey Creek Water Park on Saturday.
He was joined by fellow officials, family and friends, as they recognized his final days on the job.
Earlier this month, the Newton County Board of Supervisors officially approved his retirement at the end of this month.
