Man wounded in shooting incident

The Newton Police Department is investigating a shooting on Old Hickory Road in which a 21-year-old received an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Police Chief Randy Patrick said Newton County 911 received the call at 1 p.m. Wednesday, and law enforcement was dispatched shortly after that.
