ECONOMY: Jobless rate for county inches upward

Newton County’s unemployment rate slightly increased in May 2023, according to the latest update from the Mississippi Department of Employment Security.

Coming in at 3.2 percent, the county’s unemployment rate rose two-tenths of point from 3.0 back in May.
