Education: Shelby promoted to assistant superintendent

The Newton Municipal School District will be reorganizing its leadership team beginning with the 2024-2025 school year.

Cola Shelby will be promoted to assistant superintendent. Dr. Kevin Carter will be the assistant federal programs director. Natasha Porter will be assistant curriculum and instruction director.

UNION: Aldermen agree to sale of golf course property

Elections: Poll workers to receive pay increase of $25 per day
