DECATUR, Miss. – Betsy Harris, the head coach of East Central Community College's (ECCC) Lady Warrior basketball program, has announced her resignation, a statement from the college confirmed on Monday.
Appointed as the head coach on August 1, 2022, Harris led the Lady Warriors through numerous battles on the court, achieving a 26-27 overall record and an 11-17 record in conference play during her tenure.
In a recent announcement, ECCC's Director of Athletics, Paul Nixon, addressed Harris's departure. "We wish Coach Harris the best in her future endeavors," said Nixon. He also emphasized the college's commitment to the basketball program, indicating that ECCC is set on continuing its efforts to maintain a competitive stance in the league.
With Harris's exit, the college is now actively searching for a new head coach to lead the Lady Warriors. This new appointment will be crucial as the team looks to build on its past performances and set new benchmarks in upcoming seasons.
The Lady Warriors, their supporters, and the entire ECCC community are eagerly anticipating the announcement of a new leader who will steer the program into its next chapter, with hopes of achieving success both on and off the basketball court.
