I guess, this is goodbye. I had not planned on having to write this article so soon. I had planned to follow in the footsteps of my brother and continue to do this until it was time for me to apply to graduate school, but life happens and plans change. Over the last year and a half, I have enjoyed writing these weekly columns for y'all. Researching these little history stores and finding new things for all of us to try has been the highlight of my weeks, and I am very sorry that I will not be doing it anymore. I want to thank my older brother Matt Hennington because without him I would not have even thought to write for the paper. He wrote for the paper from 2019 to 2022 doing this same column, and in 2023, they still did not have anyone to fill his place; so, I did. I would also like to thank Mr. Brent Maze. Thank you for letting me be a part of the newspaper. It is a very unique experience to write for your local newspaper and contribute to your community, so thank you. Without you I would not have been able to even start doing this. Thank you to all the people who have come up to me telling me that you liked my articles. It means a lot to me, and thank you to the people who have emailed me ideas, sent me pictures, and helped me find town records. Thank you to the teachers and coaches at the school for helping me write articles about all the things happening at the school. Now, it is time for me to go into a new chapter of life at Mississippi State. I am very upset about this, but I know that this column will be in good hands. Hopefully, in a few years, you will see a new veterinary clinic open in Union, and I hope that I am the veterinarian that does it. I would like to leave you all with just a few little bits of advice that I hope you take with you. Teach your kids not just to be good students or good athletes, but to be good and kind people. Enjoy little things. Everything does not have to be so big and extravagant. There is happiness all around you. Please help all the animals that you can. Help the abandoned and forgotten. They depend on us. Finally, put God first in everything that you do, and remember that Jesus loves you very much. I hope that you all have beautiful and wonderful lives. Thank you for reading my articles and supporting me through it all. So, this is goodbye.
