Ever since I was in elementary school, one of my favorite series of books was the “Little House” series. As I grew up, I still enjoy them, and I was excited that my mama informed me of the TV show when I was in high school.
As a matter of fact, I watch it every morning. It also helps that I have a father-in-law who enjoys them too!
In one episode, the Ingalls family struggles to pay off a bill, but after some hard work, the family came together and paid it off in full with a little left for extras. Though Nellie and her mother viewed Laura’s family as the poorest people in Walnut Grove, Charles is told that he is the richest man in the town. His reply, “I know.”
Not only were the Ingalls a hardworking and loving family, but most of all, they kept the Lord first and served Him faithfully. No, they didn’t have the finest things in life, but they had what they needed and they were most of all grateful and happy. I use this illustration to prove and say that when we serve God faithfully, He will meet our every need. He will bless us beyond our imaginations. Like Charles Ingalls, when people see us, they will say, “they are in fact the richest.”
This past week has spoiled us to the warmer temperatures, so pray that spring is soon on its way!
And of course remember all those affected by the tragedy in Florida this past week, and pray that our country comes together and stop the bashing and pointing fingers on who or what to blame for the incident.
I hope everyone has a very blessed week! Please send any community news or prayer requests to bradley.katie93@gmail.com.
