It seems like life would be simpler and better if everyday we lived on the mountaintop.
Sadly, this isn’t true and there are days spent in the valleys. When we experience trial and tribulation, our first response is always “why?” One of our duties as a Christian is to comfort those around us, and how are we to be a comfort if we’ve never been comforted? The valleys in our lives are when we receive comfort from God.
We receive comfort so we can be a comfort to someone else later. In the moment, we might not understand why things happen, but it’s all for good in the end.
It’s so exciting to drive down Hwy. 489 and see wonderful progress on Conehatta Baptist Church! Continue to pray for them as they get closer to getting to worship God in a brand new building!
I hope everyone has a blessed week!
Chick-fil-A stands firm
One of life’s greatest blessings is those little chicken nuggets and amazing waffle fries from Chick-fil-A.
The beloved restaurant signed a contract with the Atlanta Falcons to open a new restaurant in the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, but there’s a catch. The Falcons play one game on a Thursday while the rest are played on Sunday, and Chick-fil-A still vows to have the “closed” sign showing on Sunday game day.
The company could make bundles of money being opened on Sunday to serve a packed stadium, but the company is standing firm on its principles that Sunday should be honored. What’s amazing is even though the restaurant is closed on Sundays, just last year alone, the company brought in approximately $4.6 billion.
It’s safe to say that God is definitely honoring them for honoring the Sabbath. This story is a excellent example of how God will bless us if we stand firm in honoring him. My encouragement for us this week is for us to not just eat more chicken, but to stand firm for Christ in every situation.
Please remember the family of Hazel Matthews for she gained her wings this past Friday. She was a precious lady, and I remember her being my teacher while I was attending the daycare center in Newton. And I remember seeing her every Sunday with her family at Montrose Baptist Church. Just pray God wraps his comforting arms around her sweet family.
I hope everyone has a blessed week.
