The City of Union Police Department is thrilled to announce the successful completion of our recent “Lawmen for Learning” school supply drive, which was met with an incredible outpouring of support from both local organizations and individual community members alike.
The initiative was driven by a shared belief that our children are the future of this community, and their success is something we must all invest in. the generosity shown during this drive has ensured that countless students in our community will walk into their classrooms fully equipped and ready to learn. These supplies will not only ease the burden on families but will also empower our young learners to thrive academically, setting a strong foundation for their future.
The effort would not have been possible without the partnership of our local organizations, whose overwhelmingly generous contributions played a significant role in the drive’s success. The City of Union Police Department extends its highest gratitude to the following businesses and organizations for their overwhelming support through significant donations: Hop and Shop, El Bravo Mexican Grill, Josh Sanders State Farm, Gardner’s Insurance, Brad Warren Logging & Trucking, LLC, Hide Out Taxidermy, Woodmen of the World, Welch Forrest Products, Curren Law Firm, PLLC, Union Supply Co., Union Security & Investigations, Southern Welding Service, R.E. We are also deeply grateful to the many individual community members who stepped forward to support this cause by making donations of both school supplies and money. Your dedication to our youth and education is truly inspiring and reflects the strong spirit of our community. Monetary donations totaled $2,370. Union Police Department used $1,670 of those donations to purchase bulk school supplies. The remaining $700 is being donated directly to the Yellow Jacket Fund.
It is heartening to see how our community rallies together for such a noble cause. The overwhelming support we received is a testament to the values we share and the commitment we have to building a brighter future for our children.
