McElroy-Hoye House Craft Fair
The Historic McElroy-Hoye House, located at 400 East Church Street in Newton, will host a Craft Fair on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free. There will be crafts, Christmas ornaments, baked goods, jewelry, clothes, and so much more!
Newton County Historical and Genealogical Society
The next scheduled meeting of the Newton County Historical and Genealogical Society will be October 11, 2025. The speaker will be Greg Boggan, speaking on Grierson's Raid in 1863 thru Newton County.
Busy Hands Quilt Guild October Meeting
The Busy Hands Quilt Guild will be meeting October 14th, 9::30am, in the Fellowship Hall of Decatur’s United Methodist Church. Sit and sew runs until 11:30. A short business meeting is held followed by lunch. A member presentation will take place after lunch followed by show and tell. Drop by, say hello and show off your skills. Newton County Soil and Water Annual Wildlife Expo
The Newton County Soil and Water Conservation District will hold its annual Wildlife Expo on Thursday, Oct. 23 at the American Legion Hut in Decatur. This year’s program will be on Black Bears in Mississippi with guest speaker Kevin Nelms, Wildlife Biologist. Fish Plates will be served at 5:30 p.m. for $15 per plate, and the program will begin at 6:30 p.m. There will be door prizes, a silent auction, and a raffle drawing for a Browning AB3 .308 Mossy Oak Bottomland gun. All proceeds support the organizations many community outreach projects.
MRHAV Treat Street in Newton
You are invited to the Mississippi Regional Housing Authority V Treat Street, located at 298 Northside Drive in Newton, on Thursday, Oct. 23, from 5-7 p.m. Foot trucks will be on site and tickets can be purchased for games, popcorn, and cotton candy.

Halloween Family Movie Night and Costume Contest at The Roxy
The Newton Theatre Company invites your family to their Halloween Family Movie Night and Costume Contest on Oct. 25, beginning at 6 p.m., at the Roxy Theatre in Downtown Newton. The movie will be the Disney classic, “Hocus Pocus”, and there will be concessions available. Tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased at the door.

Fall Festival at Tinka-Tonka’s Family Daycare
