MSU Newton County Extension to offer Taco Tuesday Salsa Workshop
Limited space if available for a Taco Tuesday Salsa Workshop at the MSU Conference Room on July 11, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Participants will learn how to can salsa in this time out Tuesday workshop. This is a hands-on session where you will also dice, measure, and receive instruction on how to safely make your own salsa. Participants will receive a jar of salsa to take home. There is a $10 fee. Newton County Extension Office’s Time Out Tuesday-It’s Teatime
Join us on July 18 at 10 a.m., where participants will gain knowledge on the types of teas, when to drink tea and the perfect time for tea to relieve stress. You will also learn how to arrange a tea service and enjoy light refreshments while learning more about tea. Space is limited. Please call 601-635-7011 to register. Open to ages 14 to adults.
Newton County FFA Community Day and Farmer’s Market
The Newton County FFA will host their FFA Community Day and Farmer’s Market on July 22 and August 26, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Newton County Career Center located at 15935 MS-15 in Decatur.
We will have vendors selling fresh produce and other products, as well as concessions and entertainment. Please come out and support our hard-working FFA members.

Nicholson Family Reunion at Rock Branch Baptist Church

Newton County Extension Office’s Time Out Tuesday-Charcuterie Board Bingo
Join us on July 25 for Charcuterie Board Bingo. Two sessions will be offered that day: 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Participants will learn the importance of a balanced nutritional diet while designing a charcuterie board. Afterwards, participants will snack and lay a fun game of bingo to win prizes. Registration fee is $10. Please call 601-635-7011 to register. Open to ages 14 to adults.
