Newton City Hall will be closed Aug. 24-25 while they move from the temporary city hall on Highway 15 back to the historic City Hall on East Church Street.

Union Country Day 2023 will be on Saturday, Aug. 26, from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
Union Country Day 2023 Daniel Houze Concert
Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a free Daniel Houze concert for the whole family at the Union Mini Park. The show begins at 6:30 p.m. The two opening acts will be Bryce Richardson and Jax Moore.
Chicken Plate and Raffle Benefit for Blake Mullings at Turkey Creek Water Park
There will be a Chicken Plate and Raffle Benefit for Blake Mulling at Turkey Creek Water Park on Aug. 27. Chicken Plates, with baked beans and potato salad, are $10 and Raffle tickets are $5 apiece. “Meet the Warriors” Preseason Pep Rally
East Central Community College will hold its annual “Meet the Warriors” preseason pep rally on Monday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. at the football field in Bailey Stadium. The public is invited to this family-friendly pep rally. Well known DJ, Aaron Tullos, will be playing music throughout the evening and will emcee the introduction of the 2023-24 Warrior student-athletes.
The Wall O’ Sound Marching Band and color guard, Centralettes dance line, and the Warrior cheerleading squad will also perform throughout the event.
Following the event, fans will be invited to tour all of EC’s athletic facilities and get signed team posters from each team.
For those that cannot attend, the vent will be live streamed at www.eccclive.com. In the event of rain, the pep rally will be held in Huff Auditorium.
