Jingle and Mingle Christmas Market in Sebastopol
The Jingle and Mingle Christmas Market will take place on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Co-Op Community Center in Sebastopol. There will be a boutique, jewelry, crafts, gifts, candles, artwork, children’s items, soaps, food and more! For more information call 601-625-8409.
Football Watch Gathering Hosted by Newton County MSU Alumni Association
The Mississippi State University Alumni Association Newton County Chapter will host a Football Watch Gathering for the MSU at Texas A&M game on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at Los Parrilleros Mexican Grille, located at 209 Eastside Drive in Newton.
A copper plated cowbell (or gift card) will be awarded to the person at the watch party that has the closest guess to the final score.
Busy Hands Quilt Guild Meeting
The Busy Hands Quilt Guild will meet Tuesday, Nov. 14, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Decatur United Methodist Church. Members will be working on charity projects or sit and sew. Lunch is on your own. Please remember to bring canned food for the church’s food pantry. New faces are also welcomed. Show and Tell will end the day.
Newton Parks & Recreation Basketball Registration
Deadline to register children ages 6-12 to play in Newton’s Parks and Recreation Basketball is November 14. The fee is $35 plus cost of uniform. Late fees are $5. Registration forms can be picked up and returned to Newton City Hall or mail to: Newton Parks & Recreation, PO Box 300, Newton, MS, 39345.
First-time participants registering with Newton Parks & Recreation must show proof of age. Please attach a copy of their birth certificate or school record to their registration form.

You’re invited to the Annual Thanksgiving Meal on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23 from 10-11 a.m., served at the Ole Union Opryhouse in Union. The meal is free of charge and open to the public. Junior Auxiliary of Newton County presents Jingle Run in Decatur
Junior Auxiliary of Newton County will be hosting Jingle Run, a 5K Run followed by a 1 Mile Fun Run, on Saturday, December 9, at 8 a.m. as a part of Christmas Around the Square in Decatur. Registration is open now. Those who register before Nov. 15, registration fee is $30, and runners are guaranteed a shirt. After Nov. 15, there will be a late fee and no guarantee of a shirt. Pictures with Santa and Mr. Grinch will be available after the race.
Toys For Tots Registration Open
Registration for Toys for Tots is open at Afternoon Adventure Learning Center, located at 306 North Main Street in Newton. Registration is open for children 0-12 years old until December 22. To register, come by the learning center Monday-Friday between 3:30 and 5 p.m. Please bring a photo I.D., proof of residence, and each kids social security card and birth certificate.
Toys will be given out on December 22 at the Newton Elementary School Gym from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
To donate a new or unopened toy, drop offs can be located at Blossman Gas and Wal Mart in Newton. You can also call Kristie Temple at 601-934-8978 or Felisha Robinson at 601-686-6085 to donate.
