PreK Registration at NCES
Newton County Elementary School PreK Registration for the upcoming 2024-25 school year will begin Monday, Feb. 26 and will continue through Friday, March 8, from the hours of 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Parents and guardians of children who will be four before Sept. 1 are encouraged to register at the Newton County Elementary Office. Meeting of Poplar Springs Cemetery Assoc.
The Poplar Springs Cemetery Association of Newton County, Inc. will hold its annual Meeting on March 3, beginning at 2 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Prescribed Burn Workshop
There will be a Prescribed Burn Workshop on Tuesday, March 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the MSU Coastal Plains Experiment Station in Newton. There is a cost o $5, which includes lunch. Newton County Extension Office offers CPR Training
The Newton County Extension Office will offer CPR Training on March 11 at 9 p.m. at the Extension Office. The training is free, but you must register ahead of time by calling our office at 601-635-7011. Certification cards will be available for $12.50 each, payable by check or money order only.
Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Grant I
The Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce (MDAC) has entered into a cooperative agreement with the USDA to administer the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program.
The deadline to apply for RFSI’s Infrastructure Grant or Equipment-Only Grant is March 15, 2024, at 5 p.m. CST. All completed applications must be electronically submitted to rfsi@mdac.ms.gov.
