East Central FCA hosts “Night of Champions”
The East Central Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host the 2nd Annual “Night of Champions” on Saturday, May 11, at Huff Auditorium on the campus of ECCC. The event begins at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are a suggested donation of $25. Guest speaker will be K.D. Hill, a former Ole Miss Rebel Courage Award Recipient that survived a near fatal auto accident.
NCHGS May Meeting
The May meeting for the Newton County Historical and Genealogical Society will be on Saturday, May 11, at 10 a.m. in the Multipurpose Building across from Dollar General on Highway 15 South. Newton County “High” Sheriff, Joedy Pennington, will be the guest speaker. Please plan to be there and bring a guest. We need new members and unless we share out history with our friends, they just might miss out on something important.
Busy Hands Quilt Guild Monthly Meeting
The Busy Hands Quilt Guild will hold its monthly meeting on May 14 in the Fellowship Hall of Decatur United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All crafters are invited to drop by during that time. Bring your own project to work on or help with one of ours.
UHS HOSA Future Health Professionals Fundraising
The HOSA Future Health Professionals at Union High School have 15 students that have qualified to advance to the HOSA International Competition in Houston, Texas on June 25-20. There is currently a fund-raising effort to assist sending the students to represent UPSD at this competition, which will cost $1,500 per student and is due by May 10.
