The Turkey Creek Independence Day Fireworks Show will take place on July 3 at 9 p.m. $10 per car. Chairs and blankets are encouraged.
Busy Hands Quilt Guild July Meeting
The Busy Hands Quilt Guild will meet on July 9 in the Fellowship Hall of Decatur United Methodist Church. Sit and Sew begins at 9:30 a.m., with a business meeting following at 11:30 a.m. Brown bag or go out for lunch on your own. There is no planned program for this meeting. City of Newton Citizens Forum on Public Safety
The City of Newton will host a Citizens Forum on Thursday, July 11, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Historic Newton Depot. The topic of the discussion will be Public Safety: How we can work together to create a safer community.
All attendees are asked to maintain a respectful demeanor. Personal attacks, shouting, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

“Seussical: The Musical” Auditions at the Roxy Theatre in Newton
Auditions for the Newton Theatre Company’s adult musical, “Seussical: The Musical”, will take place on July 14 at 2 p.m., and July 15 and 16 at 6 p.m., at the Roxy Theatre in Newton.
Auditions are open to ages 6th grade to adults, with the exception of a 4th or 5th grader to play the part of JoJo.
Auditioners are asked to be prepared to sing a showtune and to do a cold reading of the script.

Showtimes for the Newton Theatre Company’s production of “Seussical: The Musical” will be September 26-28 at 7 p.m. and September 29 at 2 p.m.
Newton County Farmer’s Market
The Newton County Farmer’s Market at ESCO Park will take place on Saturday, July 20, from 7-11 a.m. Future Farmer’s Markets are also scheduled for August 3, and August 17. Newton State Dairy Show
Join us for the Annual Dairy Show at the Newton Showbarn on August 2. Open to the public, the show will feature cattle from across the state. Come and enjoy the cows and the kids that have worked so hard with them. The Newton Showbarn is locate at 615 Coliseum Drive in Newton.
Sip and Stitch hosted at Union Public Library
The Union Public Library will host Sip and Stitch on the fourth Tuesday of each month between the hours of 2-5 p.m. Sip and Stitch is a casual gathering of hand crafters.
