Sock Drive for Local Senior Adults
The Newton Chamber of Commerce is Slipping into the Holidays by hosting a Sock Drive for Local Senior Adults. From Oct 3-Dec. 12, Donors can drop off their sock at the Chamber Office, located at 128 South Main Street in Newton. All donations will be distributed to congregate residents.
Toys for Tots Registration Open Now
Registration for Toys for Tots is now open at Afternoon Adventure Learning Center, located at 306 North Main Street in Newton. Kids 0-12 can participate. Registration will be open until Nov. 30. Toys will be given out on December 21.
To register, come by Afternoon Adventure Learning Center Monday-Friday, between 3:30-4:30 p.m. You must show a photo I.D., birth certificate and social security card of each child, and a proof of residence.

Holiday Decor Donations Requested in Newton
Updating or cleaning out your holiday décor? The Newton Chamber of Commerce and Newton Historical Commission is teaming up to bring something special to our area and are in need of Christmas trees, wreaths, garlands, and lights.
Donations of items may be dropped off at the Newton Chamber Office during business hours of 8 a.m.-3 p.m. (Monday-Friday). We ask that all donations are in good and usable condition, please!

7th Annual Hickory Pick’n Day
The 7th Annual Hickory Pick’n Day will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be Over 100 indoor and outdoor vendors, food vendors, plenty of entertainment, and a Kids Zone. This year Hickory Pick’n is also teaming up with the Team Gleason Foundation to raise money to help provide for and find solutions for people living with ALS and other related neuromuscular diseases.

“Death By Dessert” Mystery Comedy at ECCC
East Central Community College announces its Fall Dinner Theater Production of “Death by Dessert: A Mystery Comedy in 2 Acts”. Can you solve the mystery before dessert is served? Join us for a perfect night out with family or friends in an evening filled with laughs, surprises, and sweet endings! UPSD Veterans Day Recognition
The Union Public School District will hold a Veterans Day recognition on Monday, Nov. 11, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in The Max Gymnasium.
