During the month of February, Newton County Schools is celebrating the accomplishments of the students at the Newton County Career and Technical Center in recognition of CTE Month. Each year, students are assessed on the foundational skills required for success in the workplace and the assessments measure the workplace skills that can affect job performance. The levels include Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Newton County Career and Technical Center Sophomore and FFA Member Emma Vaughn welcomes students at the NCCTC to the National Officer Experience Week where officers go into the schools and lead whole groups and small groups challenging students in different life skills. Workshops included: On the Road...who do you want to be and not what you want to accomplish, Bucket Filling Behavior, Average Daily Gain, Purposeful Pivoting, Building Home, and Uniquely Us with keynotes in "A Flip of the Coin...two sides to self-worth...the value others see in us and the value we see in ourselves," “Chasing Orange...no comparisons” and “Let People in!"
