The Mississippi Department of Education recognizes Military Star Schools throughout the State of Mississippi. Each school must complete a standard of operations with the goal of welcoming new Military Families into the community. This year, Newton County Elementary School has implemented the Military Transition Team which is tasked with making a new student feel welcomed as well as introducing the new student to the day to day activities of the school.
