The Newton County High School Yearbook Staff was recognized for the 2024 Newton County High School Yearbook, “The Cougar” by the Walsworth's "Gallery of Excellence" for the second consecutive year. “This publication is a powerful testament to the creativity, dedication, and perseverance of my staff,” stated NCHS Yearbook Adviser Missy Johnson. She continued, “It is a shining example of a yearbook at its very best! The staff members were able to capture not only the essence of the 2023-24 school year, but staff members also equipped themselves with valuable life and career skills along the way. Attaining this elite distinction reflects the immense efforts that this staff has poured into their work.”
According to Walsworth Representative Melanie Whitaker, “This placement is a prestigious honor reserved only for the highest caliber of yearbooks printed.” She adds, "Gallery of Excellence" yearbooks play a pivotal role in sparking creativity among students and advisors nationwide. These are the yearbooks that Walsworth prominently features at workshops to provide different staff with inspiration and solid demonstrations of scholastic journalism. This award-winning yearbook will be highlighted in booths at regional, state, and national conventions as the standard to which a yearbook staff should aspire.
