The GFWC–MFWC Decatur Woman’s Progressive Club recently announced the winners of the annual Decatur Christmas Decorating Contest, following judging conducted Dec. 10–12.
The contest, sponsored by the Decatur Woman’s Progressive Club, highlighted festive holiday displays throughout the town in both business and residential categories, showcasing the community’s Christmas spirit.
In the Business category, first place was awarded to the Newton County Courthouse, which impressed judges with its seasonal décor. Wheeler’s Drug Store earned second place, while Madison Avenue claimed third place honors.
In the Residential category, first place went to the home of Allen and Kim Allen. The home of David Addy received second place, followed by Mark and Lisa Jones, who placed third.
Club members expressed appreciation to all participants for their efforts in decorating and extended compliments to everyone for making the town look so great and thanks each and everyone for doing their part in making the holidays brighter.
