The Exquisite Touch in Decatur hosted friends, family, and community for their Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on the afternoon of Aug. 9.
The latest business to locate in Downtown Decatur, The Exquisite Touch is a combined salon, spa, and beauty supply store. Owner Katelyn Norman described her business as a multifaceted establishment.
“On this side, the frontside is nails and spa. On the back side is a salon, where I rent out booths to whoever wants to come in and do hair,” explained Norman. “And on the other side is a beauty supply store.”
Norman, who recently graduated college and turned 20 years old, said that opening her own business was something she had dreamed of, and Decatur was the perfect location for her new venture.
“You hear a lot of good things about Decatur. There’s a lot of small businesses and traffic through here, and I wanted to be part of it,” she said. “It just took a lot of prayer, hard work, and discipline. And I just graduated college, so it was a balance. But it’s a really good feeling to be able to go ahead, open it, and just get this weight off my shoulders, because I’ve been wanting to do this for a while.”
Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce Director Sonya Smith said that The Exquisite Touch was a welcome addition to the community.
“It’s exciting to get another business in town. It just means we’re doing something right to get people to want to open businesses here,” said Smith. “Our community supports local businesses very well and we appreciate that.”
The Exquisite Touch is located at 144 W. Broad Street in Decatur. Hours of operation are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays.
