Newton County begins PHI membership agreement

The Newton County Board of Supervisors approved a new emergency air medical transportation agreement with PHI Cares. The agreement will provide air medical transport benefits for all residents of Newton County when they are transported by a PHI Air Medical aircraft in the region. The new agreement begins on January 1, 2022.

Loose Caboose approved for April 9, 2022

The Newton Board of Aldermen has given the Newton Chamber of Commerce approval to begin planning the 2022 Loose Caboose festival for April 9.

The approval was given during the board’s Dec. 21 meeting at the temporary city hall building on Hwy. 15 next to the old Pioneer Community Hospital.
