East Central Community College (ECCC) is pleased to announce two key appointments aimed at enhancing student success and recruitment efforts. Dr. Chelsey Vincent has joined ECCC as the new University Transfer Advisor, while Ben Pace has been named Director of Recruitment. Both alumni of ECCC, Dr. Vincent and Pace bring a wealth of experience and dedication to their respective roles, ensuring that current and prospective students receive the guidance and support needed for academic achievement.
Dr. Vincent, an ECCC alumna and graduate of Mississippi State University with a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, will assist students in navigating their academic journeys and preparing for successful transitions to four-year universities. With over a decade of experience in student advising and academic support, she is excited to return to her alma mater in this pivotal role. "ECCC was such an important part of my academic career," said Dr. Vincent. "It’s truly an honor to serve students at the same institution that served me so well."
In her new position, Dr. Vincent will be responsible for advising students on bachelor’s programs, coordinating the Warrior Path to Success program, and supporting students with self-registration. She will also collaborate with faculty on course schedules and work as a liaison to four-year institutions across Mississippi, ensuring seamless transitions for ECCC students.
Ben Pace, another proud ECCC graduate, steps into his role as Director of Recruitment with a strong background in academic advising and student support. Pace, who earned his bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Mississippi State University, brings valuable experience from his previous positions at Mississippi State University-Meridian and Meridian Community College.
As Director of Recruitment, Pace will lead efforts to attract both traditional and nontraditional students to ECCC. He will oversee recruitment strategies, coordinate high school visits and campus tours, and serve as a key contact for prospective students and their families. Additionally, Pace will supervise the Warrior Corps student organization and collaborate with the External Relations office to enhance the college’s marketing and recruitment initiatives. “His experience, leadership, and dedication to ECCC will undoubtedly enhance our ability to attract and support students from all backgrounds,” said James Miller, Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management.
