Freemen Makes President’s List at ICC
Itawamba Community College recently released their honors list for the 2025 Spring Semester. Baker Cole Freemen, of Union, was included on the school’s President’s List, which highlights students with a 3.8-4.0 grade point average.
Local Students Graduate UWA
The University of West Alabama held spring commencement exercises on May 8 and 9, with President Todd G. Fritch conferring degrees to nearly 600 students in the graduating class represent some 19 states across the U.S. and abroad, including two students from Newton: Toshiaunna Evans - Bachelor of Science in Psychology; and Miriam Rivers - Associate of Science in Nursing.
Wagner Named To NMCC Vice President's List
Joseph Wagner of Hickory was named to the Northwest Mississippi Community College Spring 2025 Vice President's List. This distinction goes to students earning between a 3.5 to 3.74 GPA.
Jones Named to UM Dean’s Honor Roll
Jacoby Jones, of Newton, was named to the University of Mississippi's Spring 2025 Honor Roll lists. Jones, majoring in Exercise Science, was named to the Dean's Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.50-3.74.
To be eligible for honor roll designation, a student must have completed at least 12 graded hours for the semester and may not be on academic probation during the semester.
Chaney Named To UWA President’s List
Hayden Chaney of Decatur has been named to the University of West Alabama's Spring 2025 President's List for superior academic achievement. Chaney is majoring in Psychology.
The President's List gives recognition to undergraduate students with exceptionally high grades for the semester, those with grade-point averages of 3.80 or higher, completing at least twelve semester credit hours, with no grade lower than a "C."
