Dennis Prager, co-founder of Prager University, told of a saying the timber workers in Oregon have. “You never know about the height of a tree until it falls.” Charlie Kirk, who physically was six feet, five inches before his assassination on September 10, 2025, was even taller than that in the ways that counted more.
This was easily seen Sunday, September 21, at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, where 90-100,000 people gathered for a service in memory of Charlie Kirk. There were about 100 drones flying above the area, as well as other aerial protection, while inside the building, high-end bullet-proof glass walls were installed. It was a Level One Special Event, second only to a Presidential Inauguration.
It has been estimated that over 100-million people tuned in from all over the world, making it the biggest gospel presentation in the history of planet Earth. In fact, The President said we are in a spiritual awakening, and the Vice-President said Jesus Christ is the King of kings.” With three hours of worship and an altar call given by the evangelist Daniel Kolenda, responded to by thousands, the gathering became more of a revival meeting than a funeral.
Speakers included many friends of Charlie’s, White House speakers ranging from President Trump himself, almost every cabinet member, and multiple senators, with several explaining the clear gospel. Other speakers included Tucker Carlson, who made several memorable comments. He said, “Any attempt to extinguish the light causes it to burn brighter.” He spoke of soon remembering being in that stadium, “with the Holy Spirit humming like a tuning fork, as we proceed toward what is coming next. And clearly, something is coming next!”
Vice-President J.D. Vance and his wife were friends who stood by Erica Kirk, supporting her as they accompanied Charlie’s body back to Arizona, the base of Turning Point USA. The Vice-President stated, “He killed my friend. That is not a ‘both sides’ problem. My friend is dead because of left-wing radicalization…” Charlie’s widow, grieving and weary, burdened with the dual responsibilities of caring for her two small children and beginning her assignment as CEO of TPUSA, found the courage, as a Christian, to speak of the assassin, as she believed her late husband would have, saying, “I forgive him.” People gasped, with many agreeing that was the defining moment of the entire event.
Christian research shows that the Gen Z generation is the most consistent church-attending generation right now. There is a hunger for more of God, and the old Christian chorus “They’ll Know We Are Christians by Our Love” has become very relevant. At one point Charlie had said, “In 2012-2016 I was more passive about my faith. I was told not to talk about it. Pastors said, ‘Don’t bring politics into the church.’ Politicians said, ‘Don’t bring your Bible in here.’ The true mission wasn’t politics–it was Christ.”
He obviously changed after that period in his life. I watched many of his debates on Christian campuses and he never failed to point them all to faith in Christ. Since his death, many thousands have remembered Charlie Kirk, declaring, “We are Charlie,” and are remembering the Saviour of the world with the promise from His Word, “This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:1)
People, get ready! Jesus is coming soon!
