Two 1-2 football teams will meet on Friday night when the Oilers travel to Newton to take on the Tigers.
After an 18-14 win over Southeast Lauderdale to open the season, Heidelberg lost 35-0 to Quitman and then lost to Bay Springs 52-6 last week.
“They are a wing-T team and still trying to put it together,” Newton coach Zach Grady said. “When they look good, it looks really good. It looks like they are still installing it and trying to get the timing of it down. We just don’t want them to figure it out against us.”
Last year, Heidelberg had to forfeit to Newton and went 5-4 before losing to losing 32-30 to Philadelphia in the playoffs.
