After getting their first win of the season, Lake will face another big challenge this week as they take on Choctaw Central.
The Warriors are 2-1 on the season and have won two straight. After losing 32-22 to Union to open the season, the beat Cherokee, N.C., 30-20 in week two and then beat Nanih Waiya 26-6 last week.
“They will have an athletic quarterback and have a running back and receiver that can fly,” Lake coach Tate Hanna said. “They run a lot of quarterback power and will be huge up front. Last year, we had an opportunity to win the game. I think Pepper (Posey) has done a great job with them. They used to not finish those games, but I think the tide has turned on that. I expect a physical game and it will be a tough one, but I like our chances. They were huge last year and just wore us out in the box.”
Last year, Choctaw beat Lake 9-7.
