NCES Kindergartner Ayvah Gallaspy is “going the distance” during a flash game as part of the week’s review in Madison Mann's class. Students write the answer on a wipe-off board and hold it up in a flash. “Going the Distance One Class at a Time” is the 2020-21 Dropout Prevention initiative for students PreK-12th grade.

While Newton County High School Senior running back Devyon May engages in Art Appreciation class to complete his high school graduation requirements, his all-in character both on and off the field, in class and outside of class, has been noticed by educators and spectators. Recently, Devyon was also photographed picking up empty water bottles on the sidelines. The pandemic has been challenging even for sideline water breaks, but with students like Devyon making the adjustments and taking the opportunity to “go the distance” the future remains in good hands. Newton County Schools salutes the Class of 2021.
Brooklyn Mowdy, Hannah Reilly, Kaylynn Johnson, and Baley Cutway take a moment during Homecoming Week to check out the many job opportunities to consider on the Early Childhood Career Investigation Wall at the Newton County Career and Technical Center. Early Childhood students selected a career choice and researched the characteristics of each inclusive of education requirements and projected salaries.
