Mike Dearing, a member of Post 173 in Hickory, has been appointed to serve on the Health Administration Committee of The American Legion. His appointment was made by National Commander James LaCoursiere, Jr., and confirmed by the National Executive Committee in October. Dearing’s term in this leadership position begins this year and extends through 2027.
The theme for The American Legion this year is “Be the One,” emphasizing the importance of reaching out to all veterans, whether they are members of the organization or not. The campaign seeks to remind veterans of their value and provide support to those who may feel isolated.
Dearing not only serves on the committee but is also Vice Commander of Post 173 in Hickory. He is an active member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Local veterans and community members are invited to attend the Post 173 Christmas meeting on December 5 at 6 p.m. at Hickory Baptist Church.
