The Sebastopol Lady Bobcats won two out of three games this past week.
After a tough 1-0 loss to 3A contender Raleigh on Monday, the Lady Bobcats swept McAdams 20-0 and 12-0 on Tuesday in a division doubleheader. Sebastopol then opened the Class 1A playoffs with a 17-0 win over Resurrection Catholic on Saturday and finished the series with a 15-0 win on Monday.
Sebastopol improves to 19-6 on the season. They will begin the second round of the playoffs Friday at Simmons. Game 2 will be at home on Saturday, while the final game if necessary will be played on the road Monday.
Sebastopol 17, Resurrection 0
The Lady Bobcats opened the first round of the Class 1A playoffs with a three-inning no-hit win on Saturday.
Sebastopol scored seven in the first, six in the second and four in the third.
Sebastopol had 15 hits in the contest. Annagrace Stewart was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and three RBIs. Emma Smith was also 3-for-3 with two runs scored while Gracie Hammons was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs. Hanna Boleware was 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs. Callie Byram was 2-for-4 with two RBIs while Abbie Wilson doubled. Kagen Wiscus scored three runs while Audrey Ferguson scored twice.
Neely Wolverton pitched three innings and struck out eight without giving up a hit or walk.
Sebastopol 15, Resurrection 0
The Lady Bobcats scored 11 runs in the first inning and took three-inning, run-rule win to clinch the series on Monday.
After an 11-run first inning, Sebastopol scored one in the second and three in the third.
Sebastopol had just five hits but drew five walks, had six hit batters and took advantage of four errors. Ryleigh Wolverton was 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs while Callie Byram doubled, scored twice and had three RBIs. Savannah Crout doubled and drove in two runs while Marlee Smith had a double.
Raleigh 1, Sebastopol 0
The Lady Lions won a pitcher’s duel on Monday against the Lady Bobcats.
Raleigh scored in the sixth after a walk and an error.
Sebastopol out hit Raleigh 2-1 in the contest. Georgi Gunn and Neely Wolverton each had singles.
Wolverton pitched all seven innings for Sebastopol, giving up one unearned run on one hit and four walks while striking out six.
Sebastopol 20, McAdams 0
The Lady Bobcats needed just two innings to take a run-rule win in the fist game of a doubleheader on Tuesday.
Sebastopol scored 14 in the first and six in the second on 22 hits.
Callie Byram was 3-for-3 with a double, triple, three runs scored and three RBI while Emma Smith was 3-for-3 with a double, triple, three runs scored and two RBIs. Hanna Boleware was 3-for-3 with a double with three runs scored while Annagrace Stewart was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Crout pitched both innings and didn’t give up a hit or walk and struck out five.
Sebastopol 12, McAdams 0
The Lady Bobcats used four innings and took a second win over the Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday, playing with mainly with reserve players.
Sebastopol scored two in the first, one in the second, five in the third and four in the fourth.
Sebastopol had 12 hits as Savannah Crout was 3-for-3 with two RBIs while Bryleigh Myers was 2-for-3 with double, triple and two RBIs. Blaze Barnes was 2-for-2 while Payton Chamblee tripled and had two RBIs.
Crout pitched all four innings and gave up two hits and struck out six.
