In the Circuit Court of Newton County, Eighth Judicial District, State of Mississippi, Mike Butler, the Newton County Circuit Clerk, announced nine judgments on guilty pleas and three orders placing offenders in drug court programs.
William Frank Norman pleaded guilty to possession of oxycodone and acetaminophen with a firearm enhancement. He was sentenced to four years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC), with two years suspended. Norman must pay a $2,500 fine plus court costs. Upon his release, he will be placed on two years of supervised probation under an MDOC probation officer in Newton County.
Kevin K. Spencer pleaded guilty to aggravated domestic violence and strangulation as a habitual offender. He was sentenced to 12 years in the custody of the MDOC, with five years suspended, and must pay $1,000 to the Victims of Human Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation Fund. He was sentenced to a total of 17 years in the custody of the MDOC, with ten years suspended. Ware must pay a $2,500 fine plus court costs and $100 in restitution to the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. Upon release, he will be placed on five years of supervised probation under an MDOC probation officer in Newton County.
Myra Melissa Crenshaw pleaded guilty to burglary of a storage shed. She was sentenced to three years in the custody of the MDOC, all suspended.
