Fredrick Walker, a Newton native, has been appointed Vice President of Facilities Design & Services at Chevron's headquarters in Houston, Texas, effective April 1, 2024.
Walker, currently the Director of Chevron’s El Segundo Refinery in California, has a strong background in chemical engineering and finance. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Mississippi State University and his Master of Business Administration in Finance from Tulane University. Walker began his career with Chevron as an intern in 1994 before transitioning to full-time employment as a process engineer in Pascagoula, Mississippi, in 1998. Throughout his tenure at Chevron, Walker has held various positions across the United States, showcasing his expertise and leadership skills.
In his most recent role at the El Segundo refinery, Walker achieved record financial performance and spearheaded the addition of renewable manufacturing capability, a milestone for Chevron refineries. His appointment to Vice President is a testament to his proven track record of delivering operational excellence, his extensive experience in leading operations and facilities, and his strong leadership qualities.
Walker's ties to Chevron are deeply rooted in his upbringing in Newton. He fondly recalls childhood memories of riding his bike around the gas pumps at his grandfather's Chevron gas station and grocery store. A graduate of Newton High School, where he served as valedictorian in 1993, Walker is the son of Charlie and MaryAnn Walker. His grandparents were the late YZ and Elizabeth Walker of Newton and Willie and Ola Walker of Lake, Mississippi. Walker and his wife, Selena, are the proud parents of three grown children.
