CareMed EMS, the contracted provider of ambulance service for Newton County was acquired by AmeriPro Health LLC in early July. The Newton County Board of Supervisors approved the name change during their July 5 board meeting and noted that there was no other changes in the contract.
According to a recent news release, AmeriPro Health currently provides healthcare transportation in Georgia and Florida and acquired CareMed EMS, which provided emergency and non-emergency ambulance transport throughout Mississippi and Tennessee, “to provide additional infrastructure and capital resources to support current growth and meet the growing demand for services.”

With the merger of the two companies the services of transport from hospital to hospital, from hospital to nursing home, hospice or rehabilitation facilities, the delivery of care teams to patient’s homes will be enhanced and customizable, according to the release.
