The Union girls will start their quest to make it back to Jackson this week.
The Lady Yellowjackets started the playoffs by winning the Region 5-3A playoffs, beating Enterprise 48-36 in the semifinals and Forest 33-31 in the finals.
The Union boys lost to Clarkdale in the first round, falling 55-33.
The Union girls will host Seminary on Monday in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs.
Union girls 33, Forest 31
The Lady Yellowjackets built a first-half lead and held on to take a two-point win over the Lady Bearcats in the Division 5-3A finals on Friday.
Union outscored Forest 9-6 at the end of the first period and 12-9 in the second to lead 21-15 at the half. Forest then outscored Union 11-6 in the third to cut the lead to 27-26 going to the fourth period. Union then took the fourth period 6-5 to take the two-point win.
Kamiya Russell led Union with 12 points while Keirra Russell and Georgia Cooper each had nine points apiece.
Union girls 48, Enterprise 36
The Lady Yellowjackets outscored the Lady Bulldogs in every period as they pulled away to take a 12-point win in the Division 5-3A Tournament on Thursday.
Union outscored Enterprise 15-13 in the first period and 14-12 in the second to take a 29-25 lead at the half. Union continued to pull away in the second half, outscoring Enterprise 14-10 in the third and 5-1 in the fourth.
Kamiya Russell led Union with 20 points while Keirra Russell had 14 points. Georgia Cooper had six points while Kataya Bishop and Madison Buckley each had four points apiece.
Clarkdale boys 55, Union 33
The Yellowjackets season came to an end this week as they dropped a 22-point decision to the Bulldogs in the opening round of the division tournament.
Clarkdale jumped out to an 18-4 lead in the first period. But Union outscored Clarkdale 13-7 in the second period to cut the lead to 25-17 at the half. Clarkdale then pulled away in the second half to take the win.
