The Hornets will end the regular season on Thursday as they travel south to Stringer to take on the Red Devils.
Stringer is 2-7 on the season with wins over Sylva Bay (14-6) and Collins (14-7). They have losses to Clarkdale (47-6), Resurrection Catholic (20-7), Enterprise (49-14), Loyd Star (37-0) Heidelberg (34-20), North Forrest (47-35) and Mike (48-13).
“They are much better than they were last year,” Lake coach Tate Hanna said. “They play a tough schedule like we do. It will be senior night for, and I expect them to come out and have a good night. They are trying to throw the ball more this year and seem more balanced than they were last year.”
Last year, Lake beat Stringer 52-6 in week 10 and then 49-6 in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs.
