In a move to help the Newton Police Department improve recruitment and retention of officers, as well as save the city money in maintenance fees and improve vehicle longevity, the City of Newton Board of Aldermen approved Police Chief McKenzie’s recommended policy of take-home vehicles for full-time certified officers.
