Last week’s frigidly cold temperatures were no determent to celebrating a civil rights legend, as the Friends of Unity and the community honored the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. on January 20 with a program at Ray Payne Park in Downtown Newton, followed by a parade on Main Street.
